Vestibulospinal reflexes can act in conjunction with , or in opposition to, spinal muscle stretch reflexes. When the head is upright, VST pathways are inactive (neck spinal reflexes are active). When the neck is normal, spinal reflexes are active (VST reflexes are inactive).

  5. VST and spinal stretch reflexes can work in opposition to each other(other higher functions are employed to resolve the situation)
