  3. SYDNEY! • State capitol of New South Wales • The most populous city in Australia with a population of 4.576 million people • English, Arabic, Cantonese, Mandarin, Greek and Vietnamese are the main languages of Sydney • 7th largest percentage of foreign-born individuals in the world

GEOGRAPHIC FEATURE • Weather: • Temperature Summer average: 22 Celsius Winter average- 13 Celsius • Rainfall Average rainfall/year- 1012mm • Seasons ***Completely reversed from the northern hemisphere*** Summer- December to February Winter- June to August **Visit anytime of the year but summer would be the best choice!**

TOURISTS ATTRACTIONS • Opera House • Was designed by JørnUtzon • Cost $AU 102,000,000 to build • 185 metres long and 120 metres wide • conducts 3000 events each year and provides guided tours to 200,000 people each year • Harbour Bridge • Construction started July 28th, 1923 • Opened in March 19th, 1932 • 1149 meters long and worlds largest steel arc bridge • Since 1998, tourists have been able to climb to the top of the bridge.

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS • Bondi Beach • A popular beach surrounding the suburbs in Sydney • 1 km long • Numerous festivals and events such as the annual Miss Bondi beauty pageant have made Bondi Beach a popular destination among travellers • Sydney Tower • Constructionstarted in 1975 and completed in 1981 • Tallest tower in Sydney and 2nd tallest in Australia with a height of 305 m • The SKYWALK experience was constructed at the top of Sydney Tower in 2005 at a cost of almost $4 million
