  1. Government Foundation of the Xiongnu Empire By KAYLAN STOCK

  2. Type of Government • The type of government they had was a nomadic confederacy. • This basically is an alliance between groups for a specific purpose, in this case to conquer Asia

  3. Government and the Empire • This government definitely ruled the empire and controlled every aspect. Why were the Xiongnu joined together? So that they could conquer as much land as possible and be dominators of Asia. They didn’t want peace or the simple life, they wanted power, wealth and land!

  4. Government and the Empire’s People • So how did this effect the people? • Well, if you were Xiongnu you prospered or were in the army. You could feel safe knowing your village wasn’t at the top of the list for the army to invade and pillage. • People’s lives revolved around government because war and conquering was what they knew. This goes back to the main theme of the government in the first place: power. And with more people, the empire was more powerful

  5. Formation of the Government • This government was formed not through careful decision making but out of the true thirst for power. I see these leaders as ones not to think but to act on something. It formed around the 3rd century B.C. by the Xiongnu forming a far-flung tribal confederation in order to conquer land and again, gain POWER! It all went in to place and developed from there.

  6. Xiongnu’s Leaders

  7. Sucessors of the Great • Although all the successors of these three men tried to stop the decline they were powerless compared to those first important three who made Xiongnu thrive. • 00. 8. How the Government Made the People Feel • One word comes to mind when I think about how the people under the Xiongnu rule felt: fear. I also think though that that’s what the leaders wanted was their people to fear them and in turn respect and obey them.
