  2. What is the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA)? • Despite the name it’s not a military task force • Set up from the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 • Assessment of health inequalities carried out by the NHS in conjunction with the local council

  3. What is the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA)? • Identifies the critical health inequalities existing in the borough • A frame work for commissioning services • Addresses health inequalities in a holistic way • Looks at two areas, ‘health and wellbeing’ and ‘risk factors and wider determinants’
