  3. The RdMAP covers: • 1,667 Lane miles of asphalt pavement • 110 Major bridge structures • 48 Traffic signals throughout the County • Over 15,000 street trees • Concrete hardscape improvements • Over 4,100 drainage facilities

Pavement preservation as defined by American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (ASHTO): “Pavement preservation is a planned strategy of cost effective treatments to an existing roadway system and its appurtenances that preserves the system, retards future deterioration, and maintains or improves the functional condition of the system (without substantially increasing structural capacity).”

  12. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 • As required by the ADA, the County completed a Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan in 1994. County facilities were evaluated and procedures were developed. • Currently, The Transportation Division is re-evaluating the 1994 Transition Plan • The Draft Transportation ADA Transition Plan includes policies and procedures for public input as well as the identification of transportation infrastructure ADA needs. • Transportation ADA needs will be addressed through the RdMAP process as well as other Capital Improvement Projects. • Draft Transportation ADA Transition Plan Amendment.
