French Context: numerous stakeholders • 400 Public authorities in the transport area • With different competences, • Autonomous and without hierarchical relationships • With logics of service. • So many public transport operators and transport infrastructure managers • With heterogeneous structures, • With logics of exploitation, and often of competition. • Transporters, Consignees, • Using the transport infrastructures, • With economical logics. • Users, Customers • Transport supply users • With logics of customers, users, buyers (sparing time and money, expecting comfort, safety, security…)

French Context : national priority related to transportation • Sustainable Development and Mobility • Road and transport safety • Transport supply consistancy • Sewless services • Social law enforcement • Better use of transport infrastructures • Better Integration of transportation and urban plannings • Increasing the multimodality and co-modality • Public transport promotion • Decreasing of goods transport on road • Decreasing CO2 emissions • Working condition • International Competitivity

French context: make synergies between stakeholders and systems The law asks to public authorities in charge of transport - to look for synergies in order to ensure: Consistancy of the service supply (roads and public transport) Fare compliancy Safety, security, continuity of transport services It means: connexion, multimodality, intermodality management - to implement : decision maker tools (Observatory, masterplan…) Tools improving the multimodality (multimodal platform, interconnexions between transport operators) Multimodal information systems - to promote the implementation of transport systems with a high level of service, open (to information exchange, cooperation) and interoperable. It means: interoperability

Promoting interoperability:MEEDDM axis for actions MEEDDM is project owner of its own transport systems: Road management, law enforcement, chronotachygraphe In the frame of the decentralization: Services of the central Authority must assist local authorities in their new activities. They must propose assistance and frames (law and methods) At European and International level It must promote the frame for co-operation in the country and outside. International standards, International co-operation

ACTIF model: last evolutions • During the beginning of 2010: • Strengh the modelling rules • in order to improve the selection tool • Migration on the last version of MEGA 2009 • With adjonction of control request • Correction • of a lot of mistakes contented in the previous version of the model. • The version V5.2 • is the current version. • published in October 2010.

ACTIF tool: last evolutions OSCAR V4 • During the spring of 2010: • Description of new functionalities for the tool. • Describing diagrams more easily • Enabling to define new objects not defined in the model • Defining links between objects with (pre-)selection • Generating documents (open office) • more close to user expectation • with all the content of the model • Using both english and French!! • Reception and Correction of some bugs during summer • The current version of OSCAR • is the V4 • published in October 2010.

  24. A lot of things to do… in order to reach the « dreamt ACTIF » Constant Updating of the models and the tools. Wish to propose services closer to user expectations (dreamt ACTIF) Evolutions of ACTIF model on new services (transport on demand, car-sharing…) with possibility to generate XML messages based on international standards (TRANSMODEL, EDI, DATEX-II…) Evolutions of ACTIF tool depending on the user expectations (study in course) depending on the ability of the modelling tools Apply and generalize application by users Training courses, diffusion, assistance Disseminate the knowledge In France and elsewhere.... And also develop new tools in other domains CHOUETTE, BATERI, for the Public Transport and Multimodal Information Systems. Maintenance contract in course till 2013

  26. CHOUETTE: What is this? Création d’Horaires avec un OUtil d’Échange de données TC selon le format Trident Européen. That is a software - open source. Funding by the PREDIM and now sponsored by AFIMB CHOUETTE allows the use of the French standards NEPTUNE, issued from the European Standards TRANSMODEL et DATEX via the European project TRIDENT («TRansport Intermodality Data sharing and Exchange NeTwork»).

CHOUETTE: functionnalities CHOUETTE allows : - to describe the public transport service (supply) according the French Standard NEPTUNE (lines, network, operator, stop points, schedules, stop areas and connexion…) to describe these data from cartographic support (stop points location) to publish the public transport supply on cartographic supports - to verify the quality of the data and the compliancy with the French Standard NEPTUNE - to export these data on the NEPTUNE profile - to import data with different profiles: progressivly, according the agreement with transport operators and software companies.

CHOUETTE and Multimodal information systems CHOUETTE is not the MIS tool No route calculation functions No direct publication of transport supply on web-site: the presentation is the choice of the SIM project owners (local authorities) CHOUETTE allows: The preparation of referential for the data The preparation of the referential for stop points and connexion areas. The Homogeneization of the data profiles The Interopérability of MIS (exchangeable data).
