  2. ELECTRONIC DEVICES ELECTRONICS that are heard, seen or cause a distraction or disruption will be confiscated & turned in to the Office. CA Education Code 48901.5

  3. Consequences 1st Offense: Item is confiscated and documented. The student must come and sign for the item before it is released. 2nd Offense: Item is confiscated and documented. A parent or other person listed as an emergency contact must come and sign for the item before it is released. 3rd + Offense: The item is confiscated and documented. Item will be held in the Discipline Office until the end of the semester. A parent or person listed as an emergency contact may come and sign for the item after the end of the Semester. California Ed Code 48901.5

  4. Students who habitually bring electronic devices to school will be considered defiant and may be suspended as per California Educations Code and SUSD Board policy California Ed Code 48901.5

  5. Tardy & Truancy Policies ON TIME BY DEFINITION MEANS THAT YOU ARE ON TIME, IN CLASS, AND READY TO LEARN! BEING LATE IS A MAJOR DISTRACTION TO LEARNING, BOTH YOURS AND OTHERS EACH TEACHER WILL GO OVER THEIR CONSEQUENCES: THESE CAN INCLUDE AFTER SCHOOL DETENTION AND REFERRALS. Missing school will significantly lower your grades due to zeros, missing work, and lack of instruction. If you must miss school, remember to make up your work and any tests you may have missed. Check with classmates, or your teacher asap!

Daily classroom attendance • the single greatest factor to school success!! • Regular attendance is REQUIRED BY LAW!! • Consequences for truancy are academic failure for students • and lost revenue to our school. • Continuous poor attendance leads to involvement by the • Child Welfare Office • Can then include: disciplinary action against parents (fines); • placement into an alternative school for “Habitual Truants”.

  12. ESSAY Use complete sentences and write a three paragraph summary of the policy highlights. One paragraph will be on electronic use and its consequences, one paragraph on the dress code, and one paragraph on the tardy/ truancy and hall pass policy. This will be graded on content only!
