Common Core • National Standards shared in 46 states • To prepare students for college and career • Emphasis is on critical thinking skills, not rote memorization • Connect learning in all disciplines • Law AB 484: STAR state testing has been replaced by Smarter Balance • 3-yr moratorium on using tests to measure accountability
