  2. What are Online Services? Services that are provided by the internet. There are different types of services e.g. Entertainment, Communication, Real time information, Commerce, Government, Download Services, Education & Business.

  3. Real Time Information This is a service that provides up to date, recent information on news, weather, traffic, cinema listing, and many more. Benefits: You can see everything around you without moving from the comfort of your home. This is http://www.flightradar24.com, shows us real time flights, right now. This Is Real Time Information

  4. Commerce This is a retailing online service. It is when you don’t have to do much to get things that you want delivered to you. Such as: www.bankfashion.co.uk Benefits: Again, there is no need to move as you can pay from your card, at home, and get it delivered to you.

  5. Government Online tax returns, a voting application, grants. www.gov.uk

  6. Download Services A variety of Music, films and upgrades, and software underneath your finger tips. http://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/ Benefits: Instead of buying the music you can download it, from your home.

  7. Education This Online Service is a service that provides learning and training to users. Users are of all ages, 5 year olds to 40 year olds. Services that provide this are Mymaths (mymaths.co.uk) and bbcbitesize (http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/

Virtual Learning Environments A virtual learning environment, or learning platform, is an e-learning education system based on the web that models conventional in-person education by providing equivalent virtual access to classes, class content, tests, homework, grades, assessments, and other external resources. http://vle.garstanghigh.lancs.sch.uk/
