  1. Ethan SethSydniSabrinaEdEE Eukaryotic Plant Cell

  2. EE Click Any Organelle chloroplast Cytoplasm Cell Membrane Smooth ER Cell wall lysosomes vacuole Nucleus Ribosomes Mitochondria Nucleolus End Rough ER

  3. Cytoplasm • The jelly-like substance that holds all the organelles • Cytoplasm is also called cytosol • Only in Eukaryotic cells Back to cell

  4. Cell Membrane • Semi-permeable (lets things in and out) • “barrier” for the cell • Responsible for entry & exit of sodium, potassium, calcium and chloride Back to cell

  5. Chloroplast • Contains the cell’s chlorophyll • It has a double outer membrane • Thylakoids are the structure. • Granum are the thylakoids stacked in the cell. Back to cell

  6. Cell wall Is the tough outer layer. The cell wall protects the cell from viruses. It can only be found in plant cells. Back to cell

  7. Lysosomes • Breaks up wasted materials. • It is found in plant and animal cells. • It comes from the Greek word lysis(means to separate) and soma (means body). Back to cell

  8. Mitochondria • Break down liquid and carbon. • It is called the cellular power plant. • The number of mitochondria with in the cell is different depending on the kind of cell Back to cell

  9. Nucleolus • the structure inside the nucleus • It creates the ribosomes which sit on the rough ER Back to cell

  10. Nucleus • The most obvious organelle in a eukaryotic cell • Inside of it is DNA • Brain of cell Back to cell

  11. Rough ER • Its rough because the ribosomes stick to it. • Protein collects on the ER then passes through it. Back to cell

  12. Smooth ER • No ribosomes attach to it • It depends on the cell for ribosomes to become the smooth ER Back to cell

  13. Organelle • Under more restricted of membrane-bound structure. A structure in cytoplasm of a Eukaryotic cell that acts like a storage they are like organs for cells. Back to cell

  14. Golgi Bodies • Packages protein in the cell and transports it through the cell Back to cell

  15. Ribosomes Small organelles composed of ribosomal DNA. Small structure on which cells make their own protein. Back to cell

  16. Vacuole • The vacuole is used for isolating materials that hurt the cell • And holds the water so that the plant survives Back to cell

  17. Thanks for viewing our power point about cells!
