  2. What are your views regarding the Post 16 dress code? • Positive: - 44% • Middle: – 26% • Negative: - 30% “We need more freedom” “Its ok but very restricting” “I think everyone looks very smart ”

  3. Do you feel the Post 16 dress code changes your attitude and motivation levels? • Yes: 20% • No: 72.5% • Don’t know: 7.5% • “Dependant on subject” • For example; In “Performing arts” the dress code would be better if it were more relaxed

  4. Do you have any concerns wearing blazers? • Yes: 52% • No: 58% • “All partnership schools should be the same” • “Doesn’t determine how we learn” • “Uncomfortable” • “Expensive”

  5. If you were to control the Post 16 dress code what would you change? • Freedom in summer – 3% • Own footwear – 7% • More Casual – 25% • No Blazers – 44% • Bring back uniform – 3% • Females need to dress smarter – 7% • Nothing – 11%

  7. Do you feel homework is still beneficial at 6th form • Yes :81% • No :14% • Depends on Course: 5% “Coursework is more dependant on work at home, and exam work is based on revision.”

  10. Do you think students should be shown how to work independently • Yes: 60% • No: 40% • Also students should be taught revision methods and help with managing time!

  11. Do you think there should be a Post 16 homework club? • Yes – 50% • No – 50% • More ICT facilities should be available

  12. Do you receive constructed criticism on your completed homework? • Yes – 67% • No – 15% • Sometimes – 15% • Doesn’t receive homework – 3% • “Good and helpful”

Do you think that extra classes after school would help and are you aware of any currently running? • Yes extra classes would help : 66% • No extra classes wouldn’t help: 34% • I am aware of clubs currently running – 21%(Biology, library Thursday after school) • I am not aware of any clubs running - 71% • I know that some partnership schools (St Chads) run clubs – 8%

  14. What conclusions can we draw? • The Good: • Majority responses were positive about dress code. • Positive feedback re: independent work areas- majority know where space is available and utilise it • Majority of students said they receive constructive feedback on work

  15. What conclusions can we draw? • To Improve: • Issue with maintaining consistency across partnership schools; a concern raised by a number of students. Could there be a partnership dress code? • Blazers continue to be a contentious issue! Is there room for negotiation on this point? • Students have requested extra sessions to be taught revision and study skills
