  4. Beginning in September, classes will end at 1:25 on Tuesdays. Other week days will remain the same. Make sure to line up against the wall for pick up. Notify family members about this procedure. If possible please wait til all students picked up to ask questions or comment. You can come into the classroom or wait outside.

  5. Please ensure that your child is in line and ready to begin the day by 8:00 am. Three tardies are considered one absence.

  6. We want to instill at a very young age that school is important. Emergencies do arise and are unavoidable but please try to keep absences to an absolute minimum. Your child cannot learn if they are not present. Always make sure to send a note the following day or call the school to notify me of the child’s absence. Having an excess of 6 absences in a school year are automatically reported to the district attorney.

  7. Lunch is provided to every child. They are given 20 minutes to complete their meal and 20 minutes to play. Please pack a small healthy snack for recess time. Students are not allowed to share.

  8. Students will be given homework every Monday for the week. Students should turn in homework on Friday. Late homework is given one point off. Homework will be returned home with grades. Every 6 weeks children with 20-25 scores of 4 on their homework will be a part of the Lunch Bunch. The lunch bunch is a special treat that I provide to students during their recess time.

  9. Children should bring their folder to school in a backpack everyday. This will help with notes that are sent home. Please do not lose the small decodable books. They are used for testing and can be useful for building fluency. The folders are recycled for two years so please help your child be responsible for it.

  14. Students receive everything that they need at school. Some items that the school does not provide or purchase myself or include on my wishlist for parents to donate. Items might include: Baby Wipes Shaving Cream Ziploc Bags Hand Sanitizer AAA or AA batteries…

  15. Teachers are not allowed to have birthday celebrations during instructional time. If you would like to bring something to share it can be done during recess time, 1:00-1:20 or can be passed out at the end of the day as students leave the classroom. Individual items are preferable.
