  6. Let’s Grow…Recruitment! Group exercise participants stay longer (retention), refer more people and are loyal to your YMCA! Why? Who? How…

  7. Common Recruitment Errors! Just retraining the current staff. (It’s like putting new wheels on an old car, it’s still an old car). An all female team. Recruiting a person who has no passion for Group Fitness. Instructor’s that have limited potential to fill the room. Recruits that are already time pressed and will never find time to be excellent. Instructor’s that can’t keep in time with the music. 7. Recruiting for warm bodies, not great instructors

  8. Ongoing Training/Policy & Procedures Regular Meetings Scheduled Policy & Procedure Manual 5 Minute Feedback Forms Video Assessments Group Exercise Audits Incentive Programs Reward for continuing education etc. Consistency is the key! Convey your expectations from the START!

  9. Let’s Lead… 1. Would you want to work for you? 2. Are you an active part of your WOW team? 3. What change can you make today to be a better employer? Are you amazing to work for?

  10. Learn, Grow Your Own, Lead! Not all authentic instructors are born, many are made. By giving them the tools, the training and the support to be successful, it is possible to grow your own authentic instructors. Don’t let good be the enemy of great! People are not your greatest asset, the right people are your great asset!” -Jim Collins
