CONCLUSIONES A LA ACTUALESTRUCTURA URBANA. • CONCLUSIONES AL CENSO 2001 • La ciudad sigue siendo el lugar preferido de quienes abandonan el campo movidos por expectativas económicas mejores. • Extremadura, junto a Cantabria, Castilla-La Mancha, País Vasco, La Rioja, Ceuta, Melilla y Navarra, han registrado en el año 2001 un crecimiento vegetativo de "escasa entidad".  • Datos de fecundidad: España, en el pelotón de los últimos (UE media 1,53).

  10. 3. CONCLUSIONES A LA ACTUALESTRUCTURA URBANA. SOSTENIBILIDAD MODELO URBANO • Ideas dominantes: competitividad, poder, individualidad y cultura del objeto. • La forma de proceder en las ciudades actuales ha traído consigo un despilfarro de suelo. • Una tupida red de carreteras para transporte motorizado. • Alternativa al actual modelo: aumentar la complejidad, sin necesidad de aumentar substancialmente el consumo de materiales, suelo y energía.
