Why Do You Need Curcumin Curcumin is found to be effective in preventing the inflammation induced increase in rat liver enzymes such as serum glutamicaxaloacetictransamilase and serum glutamicpymvictransamilase [Srimal & Dhawan 1973; Susan & Rao 19911. Curcumin is a potent scavenger of active oxygen species including superoxide, hydroxyl radical and nitric oxide, which are implicated in inflanimation.
