  2. Scenario • As a junior member of the Crime Scene Investigation team (C.S.I) working for the North Yorkshire Police Authority you will have to present the evidence in court for the first time. To help you understand who is involved in securing convictions once the evidence has been processed, you will research the role of the Forensic Science Service (FSS) and the criminal justice system (CJS) and how each is connected to the other.

Pass 6: Merit 5 • Make an 8 page booklet which could be given out as a public information leaflet in police stations about the FSS and CJS • = Title page and your name • = Explain what the Forensic Science Service (FSS) is • = List 5 events that lead to the involvement of the FSS • = Explain what the Criminal Justice System is (CJS) • = List the 5 stages that make up the CJS • = Explain how the FSS and the CJS are linked • = List the 4 types of punishment and rehabilitation that are offered • = Give a contact number for general help and enquiries
