  3. Forestry Mowing • Total project included 1275 stations of clearing along IH 90/94 from Camp Douglas to Exit 85 (Wisconsin Dells) • Various areas within this 30 mile stretch ranging from 2 stations to 42 stations in size. • Lane closers allowed weekly 7pm Sunday to 10am Friday prior to Memorial Day and 7pm to 9am nightly after Memorial Day • Contract required stumps to be flush with the existing ground • Contractor salvaged saw logs reducing the amount of debris • 1275 stations of clearing completed in a little over 30 working days. 14. Forestry MowingSummary • All work can be completed in one operation • Ability to complete work in frozen or snow covered conditions • Faster and more economical than traditional operations • Less ground disturbance (no grubbing, burying, or burning) • Less impacts to traffic (no debris to haul, minimal mobilization) • Few if any utility conflicts • Natural vegetation re-growth • Seeding and mulching not always needed

  15. Curlex Bloc • Curlex Blocs are a good alternative to Coir Logs. • USA made. • Made from naturally grown materials. • Materials are loosely packed, so vegetation can naturally root. • Great wicking material. NASECA Feb 2014 1390-04-79

  28. Curlex Bloc • Great Natural filter. • Good vegetative growth. • Biodegrades naturally. • Installation is the biggest problem • Imbed the Bloc, so it intercepts water. • Abut Blocs and overlap material to make a seamless joint. NASECA Feb 2014 1390-04-79
