  2. Background Last year (Nov-2008), we began an initiative in association with the Tihar Jail administration to rehabilitate the inmates. As a result amzadd habibb academywas set-up inside Tiharto impart training to the inmates in hairstyling, beautyand make-up. This year we intend to take this initiative one step further by starting a similar free training course for the “sex-workers” at Delhi’s Red light area, G.B. Road. Our endeavor begins on the eve of Independence day with the launch of a fundraising event, called “Salute to the Nation.”

  3. The Event – Salute to the Nation “This 15th of August, let’s fight for freedom” This 15th of August, let’s do something different. Let our salute to the nation not be a mere ritual. Let’s not treat it as just another day off from work. Let’s begin the change. Let’s BE THE CHANGE ! In association with Delhi Tihar Administration &Delhi Police, we are organising a fundraising event “Salute to the Nation” at our academy. Any proceeds collected during the event would be utilised to facilitate free training in hairstyling, beauty & make-up to the sex-workers and their dependents from Delhi’s red-Light area G.B. Road. • Venue : amzadd habibb academy for hair & color, M-3, South Ex-II, N.Delhi-49 • Time : 10 a.m. on 14th of August to 10 a.m. on 15th of August

Event Details • A 24 hour non-stop makeover with hairstyling & coloring by the master stylist Amzadd habibb • Dazzling nail-art by nail-technician Poonam Sivia from Institute “Art of Style” Denmark • Beauty & make-up tips by acclaimed beauty & make-up expert Sanam Habib • Multi-colour Body-art & Innovative tattoo designs • A unique fashion show choreographed by bollywood stylist & grooming expert Aamer Zakir, where models would don the apparels & accessories hand-crafted by the inmates at Tihar prison

About the academy amzadd habibb academy of hair & color, came into being in 2007, with an impetus to revolutionize the art of hairstyling in India; to provide scientific and systematic training to the aspirants wishing to pursue a career in cosmetology. Since its inception, the academy has enabled hundreds of students to succeed in this perofession, coming from as far as Canada, U.S., South Africa, Bhutan, Mauritius, Sweden and Bangladesh. The driving force behind the acdemy are two accomplished & well-known names in the world of Hairstyling-the visionary Mr. Amzad Habib and his wife Mrs. Sanam Habib.
