  1. Alaska Aviation EI Status ReportWRAP Emission Forum Meeting – January 26, 2005

  2. Project Status • Inventory Preparation plan drafted and available for review • Emission Inventory Development • Large Airports • Military Airfields • Small Airports • Next Steps for Project

  3. Large Airports • Landing & TakeOff data has been requested from larger airports. • Anchorage • Fairbanks • Juneau • Emissions will be computed using EDMS model.

  4. Military Aircraft • Major Military Airfields contacted • Elmendorf AFB • Eielson AFB • Forts Wainwright and Richardson • Kodiak (Coast Guard air station) • Elmendorf provided a detailed emissions inventory. • Seasonal inventories to be computed for remaining facilities

  5. Small Airport Distribution & Survey • Initial distribution created • Put coordinates to 1,112 airports from 1994 ADOT survey. • Proportionate random sample of 100 airfields selected • Based on # of airports in each Borough • Military and large airports excluded • Survey finalized and underway • 50% response to date • Seasonal facilities/lack of contacts • Use nearby facilities to confirm existence and rough activity • Based on survey responses, less airports than originally thought.

  6. Next Steps • Complete surveys • Run EDMS for major airports • Create EDMS profiles for regional hubs, hub destination airports, seasonal airfields • Apply profiles to airport distribution • Complete reporting
