  • Understand how texts are made cohesive through resources e.g. synonyms, and antonyms

  • Understand that words which sound the same may have different spellings and meanings which determine their usage.

Building information through connecting similar and contrasting dissimilar things.


Antonyms words that are opposite to another word anti means against

Synonyms – words that are the same or nearly the same as another word (SYN means the SAME)

Antonyms – words that are opposite to another word(ANTI means AGAINST)

Homonyms – words that sound the same but have different meanings (HOMO means SAME)

This is a contraction of two words – they + are…Could you use ‘they are’ in your sentence? Yes! Then use this one!

There:

This relates to a place…Where? Not here! Over there!Can you see that they all have “here”?

“Their” is a possessive. It means that something belongs to someone. Could you use ‘our’ in your sentence? Yes! Then use this one!
