  1. Great Leaders by Dianna Lambert and Spring Thompson

  2. Great Leaders • Our world history has had many great leaders, both in peaceful embodiments of progress and the greater good as well as the misfits who have left death and destruction in their wake. A great leader will foster member involvement and satisfaction and encourage interdependence. This leader is able to facilitate a team’s progress by maintaining a focus on the goal, helping members to identify appropriate tasks and roles, by encouraging members to participate, by maintaining the flow of useful feedback, recognizing member contributions, and by sharing any recognition received amongst all team members who contributed to the achievement. • We chose the fallowing five leaders based on their popularity in our lives, their ability to achieve team performance and the fore mentioned criteria of what a great leader demonstrates. • Walter Disney • John Fitzgerald Kennedy • Dick Clark • Jeff Bezos • Billy Graham

  3. Walt Disneywas motivated by creative achievement and was comfortable in an uncertain business environment: “That' s what I like about business, the certainty that there is always something bigger we could do......... and the uncertainty of everything else” –Walt Disney "If we had no constraints, what would we love to do next?"

  4. Walt Disney • Walt Disney's imagination and energy, along with his whimsical humor, and his gift for being attuned to the views of popular taste inspired him to develop well-loved amusements for “children of all ages” throughout the world. • His achievement as a creator of entertainment for an almost unlimited public and as a highly ingenious merchandiser of his wares can rightly be compared to the most successful industrialists in history.

  5. Walt Disney • In addition to his theme parks, Disney created and endowed a new university, the California Institute of the Arts, known as Cal Arts. He thought of this as the ultimate in education for the arts, where people in many different disciplines could work together, dream and develop, and create the mixture of arts needed for the future. Disney once commented: "It's the principle thing I hope to leave when I move on to greener pastures. • “If I can help provide a place to develop the talent of the future, I think I will have accomplished something." • At the time of his death, his enterprises had garnered him respect, admiration, and a business empire worth over $100 million-a-year, but Disney was still remembered primarily as the man who had created Mickey Mouse over two decades before.

  6. Dick Clark In 1974, at ABC's request, Clark created the American Music Awards after the network lost the broadcast rights to the Grammy Awards.

  7. Dick Clark • Known as "America's oldest teenager," Dick Clark was one of the most influential figures in popular music. With his show American Bandstand, he helped advance the careers of countless artists, including Paul Anka, Barry Manilow and Madonna. • American Bandstand began in 1957 and continued until 1989. The program's mix of lip-synched performances and its "Rate-a-Record" segment captivated teenagers, propelling Clark to fame. • Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, was a long-running special broadcast that aired on December 31 each year, began in 1972, and he created numerous other shows over the years.

  8. Dick Clark • Through Clark's initiative, Bandstand was picked up by ABC as American Bandstand for nationwide distribution. • His exposure on American Bandstand, and his prime-time program, The Dick Clark Show, generated countless hits. Clark required a formal dress code of dresses or skirts for girls and coats and ties for boys that helped establish the show's wholesome appearance. The move was an early indication of Clark's innate ability to read the public's mindset, and mute potential criticism. When African-Americans were introduced among the white teenage dancers in a groundbreaking move of integration on national television, Clark was able to use his influence to stifle divisive talk amongst viewers.

  9. 35th President John FitzgeraldKennedy was well loved by the American people for his vision and outstanding service to the country.

  10. John Fitzgerald Kennedy • Because of his youth, charisma and his outstanding leadership qualities, he won the hearts and minds of the American electorate and voted for him to become the 35th President of America. • In his famous inaugural address as the 35th President of the United States of America, he encouraged the American people to unite and he said: “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country”. • This famous statement became the rallying point for Americans to unite and to fight the evils of war, poverty, disease, and tyranny.

  11. John Fitzgerald Kennedy In some of his most radical actions, he would send law enforcers to places where racial segregation was being tolerated by local officials, with instructions to stop them as they are contrary to law. • In 1962, James Meredith, a famous black victim of racial discrimination, tried to enroll at the University of Mississippi but was prevented by white students. When Kennedy learned about this, he sent 400 federal marshals and 3,000 troops to ensure that Meredith could enroll in the University. • He also intervened for the early release of Martin Luther King from prison for crimes associated with racial discrimination. His intervention triggered the charismatic spiritual and civil rights leader’s prominence in the civil liberties movement.

  15. Billy graham A Great Leader and man of GOD

  16. Billy is from Charlotte NC. He is one of Americas most renown evangelist’s. He is a man of high moral standards and a love for mankind. He preaches the message of Christianity to more people than anyone in history. He has been an advisor to many American presidents. Dianna once heard that when Rev. Graham is travelling, he has trusted employees that go into the hotel rooms before him to check under and behind everything. By doing this he guarantees that there isn’t anyone in the room that could set him up in surprise pictures that would ruin his reputation. He has been seen in a positive light, although some say he’s a counterfeit. He has a clean record as an evangelist, unlike Jim Bakker, Oral Roberts, Jimmy Swaggart, etc. From Rev, Graham, we learn that we should stay focused on what is important and not sway to commit immoral acts because they will follow and ruin a person.

  17. Billy graham – He followed his heart! Billy Graham new a young age that he wanted to be a preacher. He had a heart for mankind, he loved people and wanted to show them the way he felt led to eternal life.
