  1. http://lpcatalog.com/item/2003_meteora Easier to run Linkin Park

  2. It's easier to run Replacing this pain with something numb It's so much easier to go Than face all this pain here all alone Something has been taken from deep inside of me The secret I've kept locked away no one can ever see Wounds so deep they never show they never go away Like moving pictures in my head for years and years they've played

  3. (If I could change I would take back the pain I would) (Retrace every wrong move that I made I would) (If I could stand up and take the blame I would) (If I could take all the shame to the grave I would) (If I could change I would take back the pain I would) (Retrace every wrong move that I made I would) (If I could stand up and take the blame I would) (I would take all my shame to the grave)

  4. [Chorus] It's easier to run Replacing this pain with something numb It's so much easier to go Than face all this pain here all alone Sometimes I remember the darkness of my past Bringing back these memories I wish I didn't have Sometimes I think of letting go and never looking back And never moving forward so there'd never be a past

  6. Just washing it aside All of the helplessness inside Pretending I don't feel misplaced It's so much simpler than change

  7. [Chorus] It's easier to run Replacing this pain with something numb It's so much easier to go Than face all this pain here all alone It's easier to run (If I could change I would take back the pain I would) (Retrace every wrong move that I made) It's easier to go (If I could change I would take back the pain I would) (Retrace every wrong move that I made I would) (If I could stand up and take the blame I would) (I would take all my shame to the grave)

  8. Reason for choosing this song: I chose this song because I've been listening to Linkin Park since I was little and I've always liked this song better than any song on all five of their albums. I think the message for this song is really sad but then unlike other songs out there, every word has a meaning behind it. I also like the rhythm of it and the beat

  9. Who is the speaker? The speaker in this song could be either a man or woman who is struggling in life, and knows that sometimes its easier to move on and walk away then to stand and fight and to pretend that everything is ok but they just wish the could give up

  10. Literary Devices Used: The secret I've kept locked away no one can ever see -This part follows a rhyme scheme because me and see rhyme (specific rhyme) Wounds so deep they never show they never go away -The wounds are a metaphor for the pain he feels and how he hides it but the pain won't ever go away (metaphor)

  11. Like moving pictures in my head for years and years they've played -This is a simile because he is comparing his memories with moving pictures (simile)

  12. Interpretation: I think this songs is about being able to make choices and that sometimes the only thing you can do is run because of the choices you've made already, or that sometimes running is the only option you do have in front of you.

  13. It's easier to run Replacing this pain with something numb It's so much easier to go Than face all this pain here all alone I think this means that sometimes its easier to try and abandon your problems and leave everything behind because some memories won't go away even though you want them to and you feel alone because of them

  14. Something has been taken from deep inside of me The secret I've kept locked away no one can ever see Wounds so deep they never show they never go away Like moving pictures in my head for years and years they've played Something is missing that was once there, A piece of me nobody can ever know with so much pain built up inside myself that it won't ever go away and doesn't even fade and the painful memories keep running through my head

  15. If I could change I would take back the pain I would. Retrace every wrong move that I made I would. If I could stand up and take the blame I would. If I could take all the shame to the grave I would. If I could change who I am or take back all the pain I've caused I would. If I could relive all the mistakes and change the decision I made I would If I could come forward and take the blame for what I did If I could die and bring all the problems I caused with me i would

  16. Sometimes I remember the darkness of my past Bringing back these memories I wish I didn't have Sometimes I think of letting go and never looking back And never moving forward so there'd never be a past I remember who I used to be and compare myself to who I am today Thinking about all I did and wishing those things never happened Sometimes I wish I would forgive and forget but then never move on so I can never mess up again

  17. Just washing it aside All of the helplessness inside Pretending I don't feel misplaced It's so much simpler than change Just pushing it aside. The thought of not being able to do anything about what I've done. Pretending I belong here, running from the who I am. Its easier than changing myself to fit in.

  18. Compare the Experience: I think this song could be pretty easily compared to The Outsiders because Ponyboy has some things in his life that I'm sure he would want to forget such as his friend Johnny dying, or the cruel way Dally died in the end of the novel (being shot by the police multiple times). I'm sure if he could forget he would want to, and in the novel he tried to run away from his problems just like the speaker of this song wants to do.
