    2. 8.1A Quadratic Functions Graphical Analysis A function is a rule that states for every input value there is exactly one output value. The vertical line test is used to determine if the graph of a relation is a function. If a vertical line intersects the graph exactly once, then the graph represents a function. Look at the graphs below. The graph of quadratic function is called a parabola.
