Childhood • When you were younger what was your life like? • In Ancient Egypt the little girls would stay home and play with homemade dolls. • Girls were not allowed to go to school unless the family was wealthy which not a lot of people were. • As the girls became a little older, theirmother would teach them how to run a house hold and a family.

  3. Home life • Women were expected to get married and start a family. • They were to stay home, take care of the children and do the house work. • The housework was the following: laundry, cooking, sewing, and cleaning.

  4. Jobs • Some women had a choice. • If they could play an instrument and read music, they could be a musician and play for a living. • Or they could run there own business.

  5. Style • The eye liner worn was made of coal. • The red lip coloring was made of red clay mixed with water. • They also used henna(flowering plant) to dye hair and hands for temporary decoration. • They wore wigs for different occasions. • Jewelry for the wealthy was made of gold and silver. The lower class had copper jewelry. • Clothes for the common people were made of linen. The wealthy wore fine linen and silk.
