  5. Bell Schedule • Bell schedules have been distributed. Please pay attention to each day’s schedule since they do vary. • Lunches are scheduled by sectors. • No bells during testing please follow the schedule for each day. • When your students are dismissed please actively monitor hallways and stair wells.

Teacher/Student Assignments • Work copy has been provided to you • Please review and make sure all students are accounted for • Some students may be tested in an ESE, 504 or ESOL test site • You may be receiving students from another teacher • Your RAI will include all students assigned to you • For 6th/7th grade CBT reading students will be tested in computer lab sites

  7. What’s New? • 7th Grade Reading has been added to CBT • Student Test Rules Acknowledgment • “I understand the testing rules that were just read to me. If I do not follow these rules, my test score may be invalidated.” • Students signs in Session 1 of test book, therefore all students must take session 1 before being administered session 2 • If a student refuses to sign, must be removed from test session and scheduled into makeup session – call discipline.

REMINDERS • Reference Sheets for grades 6-8 Math and grade 8 Science WILL BE provided by DOE in hard-copy • Ensure students have a chance to review the reference sheets prior to testing (Sample Test or ePAT) • Must use official reference sheet on days of testing • Students must sign reference sheet (not in script). Once used becomes secure item. NEW • When returning reference sheets do not place them in test book or with answer documents.

  9. REMINDERS • Test Administrators must allow the exact amount of time allotted for each test session. You must indicate starting and stopping times in a place easily viewable by students during testing, and must give the 10-minute warning on time. • Test administrators are allowed to collect test materials once student verifies they are finished with test, and then allow student to read. Make sure no incentive is given for students to finish early. Maintain test atmosphere for the entire testing time (even if all students are finished early). • Once materials are collected they may not be returned to the student

  11. SECURITY REMINDERS AND FORMS

REMINDERS • No electronic devices permitted during testing • StudentsCANNOT have any electronic device (e.g., cell phone, mp3 player, game system, etc.) on them OR within arm’s reach even if they do not use them, including during breaks in their test session (place in back pack and place all back packs in front of room). • Cause for immediate invalidation of test • If a student begins a session and leaves campus without finishing (due to an appointment, illness, etc.), he/she will NOT be allowed to complete that session. • No exceptions will be made once the student leaves the school’s campus, so parents and students must be made aware of this policy. • A student with the accommodation of extra time MUST complete one session before continuing to the next session. They must complete the session by the end of the day.

REMINDERS • Teachers/staff should NOT discuss test items with students or each other at any time • Students should NOT handle testing materials at any time outside of their test sessions • A parent/dividend is never allowed to be in the testing room with their student during testing • Rooms must be prepared according to guideline on page 25 of test administration manual. A walk-through of all testing rooms will be performed prior to beginning testing.

  16. SECURITY LOG • Security Log • Must be completed by everyone who enters room for purpose of administering or monitoring test • Must be completed even if no one relieves you

  17. REQUIRED ADMINISTRATION INFORMATION Track students, test sessions, materials, and attendance Record book security # when assigning test books to students (page 19 – indicates location of security numbers on test books)

  18. REQUIRED ADMINISTRATION INFORMATION • Test Group Codes • Assign one number per test group • Separate code needed for each make-up session • Students will bubble code on back of answer document for each test session

SEATING CHART • Seating Chart/Diagram (samples on next slides) • Copy provided or your own form • For a list of what must be on each seating chart, reference page 26 in the Test Administration Manual • Remember to make a chart for each day you test or use the one on next slide which includes all tests on one sheet • Copies retained for at least one school year

TEST ADMINISTRATORS / PROCTORS • Test Administrator is the one overseeing testing process, reading scripts, etc. Must be certified or hold professional license • Proctor is the person assisting in the room but does not read script, answer student questions, etc. • Both must be trained in security guidelines and testing protocol, and must sign Security Agreement and Prohibited Activities forms • Cannot be in testing room with students related to them in any way • UCF Interns – cannot be used in any capacity for FCAT Testing – need to monitor hallways and stairwells

TEST SECURITY PROCEDURES • Keep test materials in locked storage when not in use before and after testing • Administrative team will be picking up testing materials from each teacher after testing – please remain in your room until materials are picked up. • Never leave materials unattended. • Never allow students to handle test materials except their own during testing. • Report Missing Materials, Breaches of Test Security, Testing Irregularities to Diane or Brent immediately

TEST ADMINISTRATORBEFORE TESTING • Before testing responsibilities ( pages 25-29) • Read Test Administration Manual • Be familiar with allowable test accommodations if you will administer to students needing accommodations • Review and agree to the security guidelines/sign security forms prior to testing • Prepare room for testing • Pick up test materials and verify test books and answer documents the morning of testing • All students will have pre-ID answer documents and new students will have documents bubbled • Test are to be taken with #2 pencils only (provided) • Calculators will be provided for 7th and 8th only – no other calculator can be used (will be placed in mail boxes this week)

TEST ADMINISTRATORDURING TESTING • Actively supervise test session (page 31) Test materials only on student desk Use # 2 pencil Quietly encourage students to stay on task Watch for cheating or any security issues No writing once test is complete Do not discuss test items Do not use phone (unless emergency), computer, read book, grade paper, etc. during the test session

TEST ADMINISTRATORAFTER TESTING • Verify that all materials have been collected from students • Make sure seating chart, RAIF, and security log are completed • Make sure that any accommodation provided has been bubbled for ESE, 504, ELL • Prepare materials for return according to return plan list • Complete Test Administrator Survey at www.PearsonAccess.com/fl

ACCOMODATIONS Read Appendix A (pg. 270-276 of manual) Must review accommodations needs prior to testing to be sure all arrangements are made Must provide allowable accommodations even if student chooses not to use Bubble only the accommodations actually used during testing Bubble under correct box (either ESE/504 or ELL)

INVALIDATIONS • The purpose of invalidation is to identify when the validity of test results has been compromised • Contact Diane or Brent with all invalidation situations • Must Invalidate if: • Student is disruptive • Student is cheating/has unauthorized help/returns to previously completed test session • Student has electronic device within reach • Student is unable to finish or is not given correct amount of time • Student is either given inappropriate accommodation, or not given appropriate accommodation

INVALIDATION – STUDENT BECOMES SICK • Determine if acceptable amount of time has been given for student to complete test • If yes, submit for scoring if not soiled • If no, bubble in DNS bubble on front of test document and submit with To Be Scored materials • If soiled and can be transferred to new document do so, then place in ziplock bag • Provide memo regarding situation, attach to ziplock bag • Return with Not To Be Scored • Notify Colleen • DNS Type 2
