  1. 6th Grade Field Trip May 30th 2014

  2. Due to chances of rain on May 30th… • We felt like it would be best to take a different route for our field trip • New destination…Adventure Science Center in Nashville, TN

  3. Adventure Science Center • Team Hope, Team Perseverance, and Team Caring will be traveling to the Adventure Science Center on Friday, May 30th. • We will leave the school at 8:30, tour the science center, eat at Opry Mills, and return to FSMS by 2:30.

  4. Bus Ride… • Students will travel with their homerooms • Team Hope will be on the first 3 buses • Team Perseverance will be on the last 3 buses • You are allowed to have your phone out on the bus TO LISTEN TO MUSIC ONLY • Once you are on the bus seated, please make sure that you sit with that same person throughout the day

  5. Bus Ride… • Bus 1 • Emberton’s Homeroom • 1/3 of Duvall’s Homeroom • Adults: • Duvall, Emberton, Gass • Bus 2 • Harris’s Homeroom • 1/3 of Duvall’s Homeroom • Adults: • Harris • Blane • Bus 3 • Staggs’s Homeroom • 1/3 of Duvall’s Homeroom • Adults: • Staggs • Satterly

  6. Science Center Activities • 3 floors of hands-on activities • Blue Max Flight Simulator • Space Chase • Body Battles

  7. Rules at the Adventure Science Center • Students must stay with your assigned group and teacher throughout our tour • Students are expected to WALK at all times • Please be respectful of the Science Center at all times, as well as any other visitors that are present • No food, drinks, candy, or gum are allowed • No cell phones out while we are in the Science Center • ***There are 3-4 STLP students that will be taking pictures during our tour- these students are the ONLY ones that are allowed to have technology out at this time! • ***Pre-school area is only for young children (not you!!!)

  8. Time Management… • We will be at the center for 1 hour & 45 minutes • Budget your time wisely…spend about 35 minutes per floor (there are 3 floors)

  9. Preparing for the Trip • Remember to wear shoes which you will be comfortable walking around the science center. • Let’s remember the dress code: • Wear shorts/pants that reach your knees or longer. • Wear shirts that have sleeves (no tanks/spaghetti straps, etc.)

  10. Don’t forget to bring… • Money for lunch at Opry Mills • Optional: money to purchase things in gift shop

  11. While at Opry Mills • Students will NOT be allowed to enter any surrounding stores. • Students are not allowed to go to: TGI Friday’s or Chili’s • You will have approximately one hour to eat. • You get to choose the restaurant at which you would like to eat  • Green Leaf’s • Maki of Japan • Pyramids Café • Kelly’s Cajun Grill • Charley’s Grilled Subs • Panda Express • Burger King • Villa Fresh Italian Kitchen • Starbucks • Sweet CeCe’s

  12. Cell Phones • Cell phones ARE allowed on the bus ONLY for listening to music. • Cell phones are NOT allowed out at the Adventure Science Center or within Opry Mills Mall. ***Cell phone violations will result in confiscation of the cell phone and a written referral upon returning to school.

  13. Backpacks • If you choose to bring a backpack/bag, you will be responsible for keeping it with you throughout the day!

  14. CATS • C – Cooperate with others • A – Act responsibly • T – Treat others with respect • S – Show a positive attitude • We will expect you to follow guidelines for success during the duration of the field trip. • Let’s show Nashville what great leaders we are!
