Education and training • Issue pointed by all WG (3 and 4) • Educational programs : • to increase HPC literacy (LM) • to improve HPC expertise (LMD, PostDoc, professionals) • Training : • stronger links between the HPC community and applications domain, between academic and private sectors • interdisciplinary expertise : hardware, software, tools, libraries, … • new topic : data science

  3. Training for experts • Questions for application developers team : • How many people are involved? • Which kind of expertise is required? • How to keep expert expert? • How to increase domain of expertise? • Training for trainers

Training at European level • Prace schools supported by Prace1IP : • 1 school per trimester • 20 to 60 people • From 25 different countries • Web portal • Other examples : • CECAM : http://www.cecam.org/ • HPC Europa : http://www.hpc-europa.org/ • EBI : http://www.ebi.ac.uk/ • All countries in Europe

  5. Training for the next generation • Next generation of professionals : • Do we have enough HPC in courses? • Do we have enough students? • Do we have enough engagement with private sector? • Do we are enough attractive? • Support for training at European level
