  4. INVESTING IN THE NEW FUTURE • Monitor what’s happening elsewhere (and keep our engaged tenants informed) • Close working relationships with key partners who could support our tenants • Incentives – with advice from tenants • Learning, training, employment strategy

  5. KEY AIMS With tenants we agreed our key aims should be: • Identify critical support paths for affected tenants • Develop some downsizing options • Maximise tenants’ income • Help in getting online

  6. OPPORTUNITIES FOR TENANTS • Havebury offers a range of courses through the website and via our quarterly publication • Career and Guidance programme – a seven week programme where tenants are seen for one hour a week • Outward bound courses offered to tenants’ children aged between 16 and 24 • Work experience • A partner of Fresh Festival – promoting innovation and opportunities to young people

  7. INSPIRING YOUNG PEOPLE

  8. OUTCOMES TO DATE • 12 people in total have found employment • 6 people have been on work placements • 2 people have been sent on external provision training • 2 people are/have been volunteering • 24 tenants have completed the Career & Guidance programme with 9 more booked in for September

  9. GETTING THE MESSAGE OUT THERE

  10. IN SUMMARY … Tenants have helped us by: • Providing a sounding board • Reinforcing the need to maintain income collection rates • Steering our programme on learning, development and employment • Shaping incentives • Engaging with us – often really slow start, but nothing succeeds like success
