Fertility • The body prepares for conception every menstrual cycle • 3 things • Egg is released • Cervical mucus • Endometrial lining develops • After the egg is released, it needs to be fertilized within 24 hours
Conception and Implantation • Once sperm enters the vagina, it moves through the cervix to the fallopian tube • There, the sperm can fertilize an egg • ^ This is the moment of conception = new life • The fertilized egg moves into the uterus and implants in the endometrium
