Photo - Taking Suggestions • Keep it simple • Look for defining elements: colors, patterns, textures • Watch for background items that seem to come out of the head of the people in the picture • Be aware of the lighting • Objects placed at the edge appear heavier than objects placed at the center • Try not to place everything dead center • Avoid in-camera adjustments

How to transfer pictures from the camera to the computer • Different card formats (Digital Film) • Compact flash • SD-secure digital – coming on strong in smaller gear like PDA’s • Sony memory stick • X-D card Card readers are highly recommended USB or firewire cables that come with the camera are used to download pictures from the camera to the computer

Software Programs • Windows picture and fax viewer-on all PC’s • MS Office Picture Manager (BEST) • Photoshop- Most expensive • Photoshop Elements-Inexpensive • Arcsoft programs-usually comes with the camera • Picassa from Google • does basic photo editing and has an album for organizing pictures & is FREE
