  2. Real Life Examples 1. Bill Clinton: "We want to build a bridge to the future. Bob Dole talks about building a bridge to the past." Although, Bob Dole doesn’t address the future in the statement, the opponent, Bill Clinton establishes a false image of Dole. He suggested he shows optimism because he looks forward and makes it seem like Dole is a pessimist still dwelling on the past.

  3. 2."Senator Jones says that we should not fund the attack submarine program. I disagree entirely. I can't understand why he wants to leave us defenseless like that." -Unknown The opposing person (which is unknown) indirectly states that Jones’ ideals are weak and

You will not! Begone! Begone, I say! … • Abigail. Look out! She’s coming down! • Act III, page 223-226 • In this passage the trial transitions from witchcraft to the subject of lechery. Abigail brings us back to the subject of witch craft by mentioning the yellow bird, but she still beats around the bush. Her argument doesn't quite address the opposition.
