Give: Lent Fast Day – 18 March 2011 • Please promote Fast Day in your parish! • Fast Day envelopes • Landed in parishes 18/02 • Check they have arrived • Can anyone give them out? • Staple them in the newsletter • Encourage everyone to Gift Aid (Adds 25%. But each person needs to do this everytime a donation is made through parish)

Give: Lent Fast Day – 18 March 2011 • Could you: • Put in an item in the newsletter? • Ask for prayers of intercession to be said? • Arrange for the 2 minute talk of Amparo’s story to be delivered? • Talks: • Amparo’s story and background notes • Talk with Gospel reflections • Homily notes • ‘About us’ ‘Where we work’ Parish Fast Day income increases by an average of 30% if someone speaks about the appeal

  7. Fundraising throughout Lent – “Give it Up!” Whatever you give up this Lent, transform it into lasting change. Give something up and donate the money you save for a family, or even a whole community living in poverty.

  8. Fundraising throughout Lent – “Give it Up!” Money boxes can be distributed to parishioners to encourage them to “give something up” in Lent and donate the money to CAFOD. Now include a Gift Aid declaration. Or use our Gift Aid envelopes... Order boxes from the special microsite & envelopes from us....

  12. Pray – Your Kingdom Come DVD • Short film about how faith and action can change the world (partly shot in our Diocese!) • -Free resource – could be used in Lenten groups, shown over a coffee morning etc. • Suggested questions for reflection included in DVD

  13. Act – Support our new campaign! Getting involved with the ‘Get down to business’ campaign is your chance to stand up for small business-owners around the world

Act - Support our new campaign! • We are calling on Andrew Mitchell and the UK government to support small businesses overseas and prioritise them in decisions and policies that affect international development • Order campaign cards and take action in your parish (deadline 1 July – so there’s time after Lent too!) • Come along to the workshop this afternoon to find out more!
