  1. The Ladybird The Ladybird is a small insect that that lives in trees. Another name for a ladybird is Cocoinllidae.

  2. Appearance The Ladybirds colours can be grey or black with yellow or orange spots or bands, but is usually red with black spots or normal blue. The Ladybird has wings to fly. The Ladybird sheds its several times. The Ladybird has an exo-skeleton. The Ladybird is round.

  3. Locomotion The Ladybird can fly and walk. The Ladybird flies when it is changing from tree to tree to look for aphids. It walks when it has found a tree and begins looking for aphids. The Ladybird stays completely still when enemies are near.

  4. Diet The Ladybird eats aphids that live on trees. The Ladybird may eat over 4000 aphids in its life. Some may not live that long and only eat up to 1000. An Aphid

  5. Habitat and Range The Ladybird lives in trees, forests or bushes. They are found in every continent except Antarctica, the Arctic and the desert.

  6. Life Cycle The Ladybird starts out as an egg. After a few days the egg hatches and a white larvae emerges. The Ladybird eats aphids until it starts moulting. Moulting mean shedding skin. The Lady bird moults several times. On the seventh time the true look of a Ladybird comes out. Now the ladybird is a full grown adult.

  7. Defense The Ladybirds colour is its defense. The spots and red colour warn predators that it might be poisonous and that it tastes gross.

  8. Enemies The Ladybirds natural predator is the bird. If it is a blue Ladybird the bird will eat it. Help!!
