Chinatown Chicago was created by the Chicago Chinatown Chamber of Commerce to expand job oppurtunities and to teach people about Chinese-American culture. Their goal is to expand jobs from all over the midwest and to make a destination point for visitors from the midwest.

  • Head SE on Oconomowoc Pkwy toward Shore Circle 0.7 mi

  • Turn right onto Silver Lake Street 463 ft

  • Turn left onto Valley Road 1.3 mi

  • Turn right onto Summit Avenue 0.6 mi

  • Take the ramp onto I-94 East 22.8 mi

  • Take exit 305A to merge onto I-894 East/US-45 South toward Chicago 9 mi

Chinatown square was completed in 1993. It covers about 45 acres the largest china mall in the US. Chinatown square was built where a rail yard use to be. Chinatown square has 2 levels. Colorful shops and dining spots occupy most of chinatown square.

Scavenger hunt experience

Max: I thought the Chinatown filed trip let us use some of the Mandarin we learned the entire school year. Chinatown was like a verry fun field trip. Chinatown gave us a window into the Chinese cuture, we saw what Chenese markets, restaurants, buldings, ECT.

William: I thought thought that the scavenger hunt helped us learn more about Chinatown, Chinese culture and help us with our mandarin while having fun.
