13. 答案是肯定的!! TSM/HSM 可以提供copy pool功能，萬一磁帶有壞掉，無法讀取資料，是可以自動到copy pool讀出該資料，copy pool可以使用原來舊的磁帶區(LTO3 Tape pool)，也可分散到新的磁帶區(LTO6 Tape pool) ，並建議新的磁帶區(LTO6 Tape pool)，可以多設Primary pools ，因為效能比較好!! 13

14. Question C:舊磁帶壞掉，無法讀取資料，很討厭!有何預防措施?? 14

15. TSM/HSM 可以提供AUDIT VOLUME (Verify Database Information for a Storage Pool Volume)功能，可以訂出schedule利用每天磁帶系統較空暇的時間，作磁帶的健康檢查，其方法是TSM會將磁帶資料讀出再與其內部的資料庫作資料比對，預先找出壞掉的磁帶。 15

16. Question D:LTO6可以向下相容LTO4，如果只是讀取資料，TSM/HSM的環境下，為什麼不可以在同一個tape pool ?? 16

17. LTO可以向下相容兩代，但不同代的LTO效能差異很大，所以建議不同代的LTO不要置於同一個tape pool，就好像我們不會讓不同效能的硬碟放在同一個RAID Group，才能避免舊裝置拖延新設備。至於加入新的LTO6磁帶頭如何發揮其效能?我們可以透過資料高低水位的設定，將負載作調整，原來舊的磁帶區(LTO4 Tape pool)負載，可分散到新的磁帶區(LTO6 Tape pool)，如此原有舊的磁帶區及新的磁帶區即可共同作業，發揮最大效能!! 17

18. Question E:BACKUP POOL一定要在磁帶區嗎?? 18

19. TSM/HSM 的BACKUP POOL必需使用SEQUENTIAL DEVICE，磁帶區(Tape pool)即是SEQUENTIAL DEVICE，至於磁碟區(Disk pool)是可以作為SEQUENTIAL DEVICE或RANDOM DEVICE，也就是說BACKUP POOL可以在磁帶區或磁碟區。 19
