  3. What is the Job About? • Improving energy systems -Making systems that conserve energy • Designing more efficient engines -Making engines that are more fuel efficient • Studying of: - Gases - Solids - Liquids

  4. Tools Used • Computers -dimension diagrams -spreadsheets • Hand Held Tools -pliers -wrenches -hammers

  5. Educational Requirements • Bachelors degree Helpful High School Classes: • Calculus and Advanced Algebra • Chemistry and Physics • Technical Writing

  6. Hours and Salary • 40 hour work week • 4 ten hour days Entering- • $45,860 a year • $22.05 per hour Median- • $66,770 a year • $32.10 per hour Experienced- • $95,490 a year • $45.91 per hour

  7. Promotions and Other Jobs • Can become managers or business executives Other Jobs- • Tool Designers • Sales Engineers • Engineering Managers • Instrumental Technicians
