DESCRIPTION OF JOB/MAIN DUTIES: • Musicians and singers perform with orchestras, choirs, opera companies and popular bands in establishments such as concert halls, lounges and theatres and in film, television and recording studios. • Singers sing musical arrangements as soloists or as members of vocal groups before audiences or for recording purposes. EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS • A normal controlled environment such as an office, hospital or school • An outdoor work environment where the worker is exposed to variations in weather conditions and seasonal weather patterns • Work that produces sufficient noise - constant or intermittent - to cause marked distraction or possible loss of hearing OCCUPATION #1 SINGER

  5. DESCRIPTION OF JOB • Lawyers advise clients on legal matters, draft legal documents and represent clients before courts, tribunals and administrative bodies. Lawyers also conduct prosecutions. • Advise clients of their legal rights and all matters related to law • Research legal precedents and gather evidence • Plead clients' cases before courts of law, tribunals and administrative bodies • Draft legal documents such as real estate transactions, wills, divorces and contracts and prepare statements of legal opinions • Negotiate settlement of civil disputes • Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law • May act as mediator, conciliator or arbitrator • May act as executor, trustee or guardian in estate and family law matters OCCUPATION #2 LAWYER

EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS Lawyers in most provinces and territories must have at least two to three years of undergraduate studies (in Quebec they must have completed a college program), and a bachelor's degree from a recognized law school. They must also successfully complete the bar examinations administered by a provincial or territorial law society, and a period of articling. OCCUPATION #2 LAWYER

  8. DESCRIPTION OF JOB • Social workers assess, diagnose, treat and evaluate individual, interpersonal and societal issues. They use social work knowledge, skills, interventions and strategies to help individuals, couples, families, groups, organizations and communities achieve optimal psychological and social functioning. · Interview clients, either individually or in a group or family setting, and make an assessment to determine what actions and/or services are necessary · Provide counselling and therapy to enhance their clients' insight into their personal problems and to develop their clients' coping skills to resolve any social and personal difficulties · Perform hospital discharge planning · Investigate allegations of child abuse or neglect and enforce protective measures as needed OCCUPATION #3 SOCIAL WORKER

  9. EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS • The majority of social workers work in the Health and social services industry or in the Public administration industry (government). Although most social workers have a standard work week they may be required to work some evenings and weekends to meet with clients or attend public meetings affecting the community. As well, emergencies may also occur outside of regular office hours and sometimes demand immediate action. OCCUPATION #3 SOCIAL WORKER
