    2. This is pretty self-explanatory. These numbers tell the ORDER (first, second, third, etc.), and you have to memorize them: primero sexto segundo séptimo tercero octavo cuarto noveno quinto décimo

    3. Other than memorizing them, there are just a couple of things you need to know. Unlike cardinal numbers, ordinal numbers change to agree with the noun: cuatro chicos (four boys) cuarta chica (fourth girl) “Primero” and “tercero” lose the “o” when they come before a masculine singular noun: El primer chico es el mejor. Before a masculine singular noun. El primero es el mejor. NOT before a masculine singular noun. La primera chica es la mejor. NOT before a masculine singular noun. Los primeros libros son los mejores. NOT before a masculine singular noun.
