  2. WHATIS NEEDEDTO PLAY?  One to twenty players and  一个毽子(A shuttlecock) which may be made of four chicken feathers and a piece of thick cardboard.

  3. HOWTO PLAY 一) A player tosses the 毽子 into the air  二) He/she kicks it back into the air 三) Players continue this as long as they can without missing or allowing the shuttlecock to touch the ground

  4. WHEN PLAYERSBECOMEMORE SKILLFUL...     ...They kick the shuttlecock not only with the instep but with the knee, or sometimes alternating the heel and instep kicks

  5. WAYSTO PLAY • Competitively • Socially • Alone • Exercise • Fun

  6. PLAYING ALONE • Played very similarly to Hacky Sack

HISTORY • People first started to play this game during the Han period. • It was very popular in the Liuchao, Sui and Tang periods • In 1933 during the 5th national sports meeting held in Nanjing, the game was defined as a national sport. •  Starting in 1963 the game was taught in elementary schools. • 1936 Europe learned of the game due to a Chinese athlete from the province of Jiangsu performed a demonstration at the Olympic Games of Berlin.
