  2. Apple History • On April Fool's Day, 1976, Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs released the Apple I computer and started Apple Computers. The Apple I was the first with a single circuit board used in a computer. • Jobs is the 194th richest man in the world. He is worth an estimated $3.7 billion dollars. • Jobs and Wozniak created what is now one of the most powerful companies known to date Peter Zavitsanos Section 002

Most Successful Apple Products • The ipod, released in 2001 became a huge hit after winning the competition over all other mp3 players released during that time. • 73% of all mp3 players used are ipods • In 2007, it officially took over the universal household name synonymous with a portable music device over the Sony Walkman. • The ipod touch is the most advanced ipod to date, having over 22 million sold already.   4. iphone • The iphone is one of the most popular high-tech devices known to date. • In 2009, over 4.4 million were sold and in 2008, 13.6 million were sold. • Morgan Stanley estimated correctly that there would be a huge slaughtering of T-Mobiles g2 google phone by the iphone.   5. Macbook • Apple computers are getting more and more popular. The sleek, simple design and webcam features included with these computers have caused the sales to skyrocket over the past few years. • Another feature that comes with all apple computers is the service plans and warranty. It doesn’t matter whether the computer has been sold down 3 times, the warranty is still active and the stores are extremely helpful to users. Peter Zavitsanos Section 002

Apples Competition • Originally IBM was the biggest competitor to Apple. • Today, Dell, Microsoft, and HP are the biggest competitors. • Microsoft is still the biggest company with a market capital worth $252.69 Billion. Apple is second at $183.66 Billion. • Apple does have a quarterly growth of over double that of Microsoft. Recent News • HP plans to beat Apple iPad price, Microsoft Courier still in works • According to the Wall Street Journal, executives from HP plan to make some modifications and add features on their upcoming slate to beat Apples ipad by quality, and price. • Microsoft is also coming out with a new dual-screen “Courier” that is supposedly going to be superior to the ipad. • By the end of March, Dell, Sony, and Acer also plan to release tablets of their own. • The ipad was the first tablet to fuel the fire for other companies, and they are now on a mission to beat it out.
