Center for Excellence in Assisted Living(CEAL)
  • CEAL is a non-profit collaborative of 11 national organizations (4 assisted living trade associations, AARP, Pioneer Network, Paralyzed Veterans, among others)
  • Celebrating its five-year anniversary
  • Purpose: To foster access to high quality assisted living by
    • Creating resources to facilitate quality improvement
    • Increasing the availability of research on quality practices
    • Housing a national clearinghouse of information
    • Providing resources and technical expertise to facilitate the development and operations of high-quality, affordable assisted living programs to serve low- and moderate-income individuals

  • NCAL has held leadership roles in CEAL all five years
  • CEAL is currently working on several large scale projects including:
    • AHRQ on a three year project in the development of a consumer disclosure tool
    • CEAL-UNC Study on Medication Administration
    • 2009 Summit
  • NCAL staff and members deeply involved in all projects
  • Dave Kyllo is Chair of CEAL
  • Shelley Sabo is Chair of CEAL’s Advisory Council
