Lower Division Transfer(Have less than 60 semester/90 quarter transferable units) • Meet the First Time Freshman Admission Requirements • Submit your high school transcript to evaluate for college prep courses. • Submit SAT 1 or ACT scores, unless your high school GPA was above 3.00, to evaluate for Eligibility Index. • Make up any high school deficiencies on a course-by-course basis, usually by completing general education courses with grades of “C” or better at a community college. • Be in good standing at the last college of attendance • Earn at least a 2.00 GPA in all college transferable work.

Upper DivisionTransfer • Have completed 60/90 or more transferable units. • Must complete 30/45 units of general education courses, graded C or better in each course, including four basic skills course: A1. One speech course A2. One course in English composition A3. One critical thinking course (not required for Engineering majors) B4. A math course with intermediate algebra as a prerequisite • Must earn at least a 2.00 GPA on transferable work.(NR 2.40) • Be in good standing at the last college of attendance

Just a Reminder……. • Engineering is NOT impacted • Noadditional requirements for admission to SJSU (Math, Physics, etc) beyond CSU regular requirements for transfer admission • Completion of entire sequence of Lower Division course requirements is NOTmandatory for enrollment in Upper Division coursework • Area A3 Critical Thinking is NOT required for admission or graduation from Engineering programs. Must indicate Engineering as a major on CSU Mentor

Writing Skills Test (WST) • Pass the Writing Skills Test (by 2nd SJSU semester at the latest) • Completion of ENGL 1B with a grade of C or higher is required to take • the WST and to enroll in 100W courses • Encourage students to complete equivalent to ENGL 1B prior to transfer • Successful completion of WST is required prior to enrollment in 100W courses • and all other SJSU Studies courses • Helpful resources for WST preparation: http://www.sjsu.edu/larc
