Background Joint procurement of stock across 6 boroughs with a key aim to save money by • Sharing tender costs / expertise • Securing discounts for high volumes • standardise servicing • Shared Libraries Management System • Started with 2 boroughs • Now 7 boroughs • Soon to be 10 boroughs • Further discussion with 3 boroughs • Framework and Consortium Agreements • Standardisation is the key!!

LLC Stock Contract • Went out to tender for a new stock supplier with 6 of 10 the Computer partners • Tender specified Supplier Selection, EDI Order, Quotes, Acknowledgements, Invoice and Direct Delivery as key requirements • Minimum NAG Standards agreed and RFID Tagging and programming required • LMS supplier and Stock Supplier needed to work together to deliver the vision

Costs / Benefits • Improved performance on PLSS 5 – Reservation Supply Times • Cost to put a book on a shelf for Havering prior to LLC £5.46 • Cost to put a book on a shelf mid BPRE £3.35 • Cost to put a book a a shelf using Supplier Selection, EDI Orders, Quotes, Acknowledgements, Invoice and a full payments interface £0.62
