  1. Habits to kick start your healthy skin journey Skin is the largest organ of our body but often suffers from our neglect. Most think that cleaning, toning and moisturizing to only the face area is enough as a healthy skin care regimen. However, that is only a tiny part of the recommended routine. For a healthy and youthful look, you need to make specific changes in your lifestyle. Following are a few essential routines which will bring significant changes in your skins look and feel. Integrate Sunscreen in Your Daily Skincare Wearing sunscreen when stepping outside is a must even in winter or overcast days. Unfortunately, most people fail to do this. Winters sun might feel soothing the rain and clouds might even give us the impression of no sun but UV rays are emitted continuously during the daytime. Even if you are stepping out for a few minutes in the sun make a habit to apply sunscreen at least 15 minutes before going outside. UV rays can damage DNA permanently so wearing sunscreen is crucial irrespective of the season. Keep check of your skin type Our skin changes with age due to menopause, exposure to UV rays and pollution, glycosylation (the breakdown of collagen because of too much sugar intake) also many other reasons. For healthy skin it is essential to use the right product based on your skin type. These are broadly classified as dry, oily and a combination of both. Look for signs on your skin to determine its requirements. Your skin can change if you had dry skin issues a year ago you could now be differant. Change your products based on the season as well. Use a makeup remover balm, then follow up with a gentle face cleanser, toner, serum, cream, sunscreen, etc., based on your skin type.Dermatologists even recommend buying makeup that is compatible with respective skin- type.

  2. Keep your stress levels in check Our busy lives put us under a lot of pressure and stress which eventually becomes visible on our skin. Stress triggers the release of hormones like cortisol, adrenalin, etc. These hormones send signals to our skin and slow down the healing of acne or blemishes, causes dehydration, excessive production of oil, darkening of the skin, etc. A skin lightening cream, melasma treatment cream, anti-wrinkle serum or anti wrinkle cream will only work well when your stress level is low enough to let your skin be healthy from the inside. It’s been dermatologically proven that not being stressed plays an important role in healthy skin and self-care. Happiness and mental health can be promoted and ensured by exercising, doing meditation or yoga and a balanced diet. Sleep well and drink plenty of water Believe it or not you can achieve glowing skin very effectively if you incorporate these two habits; drinking a sufficient amount of water and getting a good night’s sleep. For improving mental health, immune system, metabolism, hormone levels and skin quality, sleeping for 8-9 hours is very important. Water keeps your skin hydrated and supplies nutrients for your skin to stay healthy. Make these habits a part of your daily routine and the results will be visible within a few days. Healthy skin demands a healthy body and mind. With this small change in habits, you can achieve that much-desired YOUNG AS looking radiant and dewy skin.
