  2. Electric Bells • When the switch is pushed on, current flows through the coil. The coil becomes an electromagnet. It attracts the metal strip. This moves the hammer to tap the bell, but also breaks the circuit.

  3. Lifting Magnets At a scrap yard or recycling centre, they can use powerful magnets for picking up cars to recycle them. They can also be used to pick up heavy magnetic objects in building sights.

  4. Energized door locks.
