  2. Assessment Days Spring 2013Student Attendance is Important! • ACT for Juniors, Practice ACT for sophomores, and Practice Scored PLAN for Freshmen is March 5. • EOC for Algebra II, US History, English II, and Biology is May 9, 13, 14, 15. • On Demand for Sophomores & Juniors is May 16

  3. On Demand- May 16 Prompt 1 • 40 minutes • Choice of 2 stand-alone prompts • 10th grade informative/explanatory • 11th grade argumentative Prompt 2 • 90 minutes • One passage-based prompt • 10th grade argumentative • 11th grade informative/explanatory

  4. EOC- two 45 minute online multiple choice tests • May 9 Algebra II EOC • May 13 US History EOC • May 14 English II EOC • May 15 Biology EOC

  5. Freshmen on March 5 7:30- 11:30 • Report directly to your homeroom classroom by 7:30. • Freshmen take a practice PLAN that will actually be sent off and scored. • Bring a calculator with fresh batteries. • Tell you teacher right now if you need to borrow a yellow calculator and they will give me your name.

  6. Sophomores on March 5 • At 7:30 all sophomore students report to homeroom classrooms for attendance. • First half of the alphabet: • 7:45-8:30 In gym for college/career fair (automatically go at 7:45) • 8:30-11:30 In homeroom classroom for timed practice ACT. • Second half of the alphabet: • 7:30-10:30 In homeroom classroom for timed practice ACT. • 10:30-11:15 In gym for college/career fair (automatically go at 10:30) • 11:15-dismissal of testing In homeroom classrooms getting belongings

  7. Juniors on March 5 • Report directly to your homeroom classroom before 7:30 for the ACT. Testing lasts until 11:30ish. • This ACT counts. • You needed to have filled in your SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER on the non test portion. If you did not, see Mrs. Watkins in Rm 212 today after testing is over.

  8. Juniors on March 5 • This ACT is free! There is one makeup day on March 19. • Get a good night’s sleep. • Bring a calculator with fresh batteries. • Tell your teacher right now if you need to borrow a yellow calculatorand they will give me your name.

  9. Juniors on March 5 • You cannot have food or drink, books, dictionaries, notes, scratch paper, highlighters, etc. in the testing room. • Bring a picture ID in case your testing teacher doesn’t recognize you. • You may not have any electronic device other than a permitted calculator (No timers, cell phones, media players, headphones, etc. ) in the testing room. If one goes off, it would be a testing violation.

  10. Juniors on March 5 • Work only on the section you are on. Do NOT bubble anything after time is called! Your test will get voided. • Take note of the 5 minutes remaining time and do NOT leave anything blank. • Come back to difficult questions. Pace yourself. • Go to www.actstudent.org and familiarize yourself with the directions for each section because this can save you time on the ACT. There are also practice questions available.

  11. Seniors on March 5 • 7:30 In homeroom classrooms to take attendance then report directly to the gym for free time until 9:00 • 9:00-10:30 In cafeteria for college/career fair • 10:30 – 11:30 In auditorium for senior class meeting

  12. 9th, 10th, and 11th Grade Students • Set yourself up for success in college and your career. • Your scores will be one tool used to determine intervention or enrichment courses you may need to take next year. Do your best! • Establish a tradition of being the best in Warren County! Represent our school well!
