FBAMC is an outreach ministry of the Diocese of Lexington, KY Mission Statement: The Second Bishop of Lexington, Ronald Gainer, established the Father Beiting Appalachian Mission Center in the eastern portion of Kentucky to strengthen and increase the resources of the diocese. By doing so, we will be able to continue to reach people of our diocese – Catholic and non-Catholic alike – who are in material or spiritual need or who are experiencing family crisis.

  4. All are welcome! We invite you to schedule a visit to FBAMC for a tour and to meet our staff of 8 full time and 2 part time workers dedicated to our mission.

God Centered • Daily Mass • Weekly Adoration • Prayer in Service • Seeking God’s will “Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary, use words” St. Francis of Assisi FBAMC seeks to bring the love of Jesus Christ to the poor and impoverished in Appalachia by offering a variety of services, including the collection and distribution of material goods, supportive housing for at-risk families, and home repairs for families living in substandard housing.

  6. Our Mother Mary prayer garden Father Beiting always had a special devotion to Mother Mary. We keep her close to our hearts and present at all our properties.

  7. All FBAMC properties are smoke free

  8. FBAMC Warehouse distributes donations throughout the diocese of Lexington as well as parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Our 25,000 square foot warehouse requires equipment and maintenance at an average cost of $10,500 per month.

  9. FBAMC fleet of trucks & cars require resources to maintain their safety and reliability. The average monthly vehicle expenses are $4,100. Our fleet consists of 1 sleeper cab, 5 trailer units, 3 box trucks, & 12 trucks, vans, cars.

  10. FBAMC Attic Thrift Store has something for everyone thanks to donations received from throughout the country.

  12. FBAMC Outreach Program addresses needs of Appalachia The average cost per home repair is $600.*(*Volunteer groups often fund all or part of their work projects keeping FBAMC cost down.) Home repairs: The needs are many! Doors, windows, walls,

  14. Ramps, steps, floors,

  15. Tubs, sinks, faucets and so much more.

  16. FBAMC Outreach – Youth ProgramsCrusaders and Ladies of the Lord, for youth ages 8-17, meets monthly. The average monthly cost is $275.

  17. FBAMC Overnight Camp – Volunteers recruit & lead bible study, crafts, music, games, swimming, hiking, speakers, skits, and other camp activities!The average cost per camper is $300.

  18. FBAMC Vacation Bible SchoolAnswering Gods call volunteers recruit, drive, & run VBS.The average cost per VBS student is $150.

  23. We visit and learn about the culture. Seasonal Volunteers: all youth must be entering 9th grade or older. Interns and Long Term Volunteers: minimum age is 21. All volunteers 18 and up: need Virtus training (child protection) and a criminal clearance.

  27. Volunteer Quarters • All volunteer quarters have a washer & dryer, kitchens are fully equipped, twin beds, pillows, & blankets are supplied. • Volunteers need to bring sheets or sleeping bag, towels, personal toiletries, food, and paper products.

  28. Is God calling you to help? Ways to help: • Pray: for us and those we serve • Send money: to maintain our various programs • Send new or gently used donations: of household items, appliances, furniture, toiletries, winter coats, building supplies and tools, clothing and toys. • Volunteer: be God’s helping hands for a year, 10 weeks, or a week. We can not do any of this without our benefactors, donors, and volunteers. God bless you and Thank you.
