**High tide – water closes to the moon is pulled toward the moon, and water farthest away from the moon is ‘left behind’ as the Earth is pulled.
**Low tide – occurs between areas of high tide.
When Earth, the sun, and the moon are in a straight line, a spring tide occurs. When the moon is at a right angle to the sun, a neap tide occurs.Spring and Neap Tides
