  1. Upper School Prize Meeting Protocol for FacultyThis protocol is an attempt to recognize that the Upper School student body and faculty have grown considerably in numbers. Because it is increasingly difficult for the entire faculty to know all students well, it is harder to decide prize winners simply by consensus. The protocol also attempts to reflect the tradition of the prize meeting as well as to call upon the continued exercise of good judgment and common sense. There will be a separate vote for each prize. The winner will be decided by a majority of those voting. If no person receives a majority, the candidates with the fewest votes will be dropped and additional ballots will be taken. Our goal is to have a single winner. In case of an extremely close vote, the faculty may consider the advisability of having co-winners.Honorable mention is not appropriate.Voting is optional. Regarding the cluster of V Form college-sponsored, non-academic prizes, a student is permitted to win only one prize. If your child is being considered for a prize, please excuse yourself from that portion of the meeting.Because these prizes recognize the brightest members of the class and their significant contributions, the research was limited to the top scholars in the class. For 2014 we reviewed the top 21 students in the class.
