  2. Introduction • Formation of the APHEO Working Group • Legal sub-group tasks/issues • What we did: • Develop better understanding of legal context • Develop ideas for better functioning within current legal context

  3. Outline of legislative context • Consultation with PHU lawyers and information session NB: Consultations did not constitute “legal advice” • See handouts provided (not to be shared electronically) • Our understanding of legal context: • HICs • Prescribed entities • Etc…

  4. Possible options for going further… • Pursue options available for data sharing e.g. through PHPDB • Develop a standardized research protocol that can be “pre-approved” e.g. get REB approval one time • Use GIS and other web-based tools for access, such as in CCO’s current funding proposal. • Also, Ministries (MOHLTC & MHP) are exploring the options available
